Always happy to ask and even more happy to read...
What is the difference between semi-synthetic and fully synthetic oil:
Semi-synthetic oils are a blend of mineral oil, synthetic oil (at least 10%), and additives. Fully synthetic oils consist largely of synthetic oil and a smaller proportion of mineral oil to dissolve the additives in the oil.
What does HC synthetic engine oil mean?
The term HC synthetic oil refers to a lubricant base oil that has been refined using the hydrocracking production process. HC stands for hydrocracking. HC synthetic oil is a highly refined mineral oil with a high purity level.
Is synthetic oil better?
Synthetic oils offer better protection against engine wear and high temperatures. Their lower viscosity also reduces frictional resistance in the engine. This enables more power and greater fuel efficiency than conventional oils, which degrade more quickly.
Synthetic oil in an oil bath clutch: won't the clutch slip?
No more or less than with other oil types. Only the JASO-MA or JASO-MA2 standard guarantees suitability for oil bath clutches.
The new JASO MA2 specification provides even higher friction coefficients for wet clutches, ensuring optimal clutch compatibility even in extremely high-torque models. JASO MA2 is the right motorcycle oil for high-performance, high-torque bikes and is backward compatible with JASO MA.
